The National (that’s the US, in case you were thinking I meant New Zealand, LOL) Cartoonist Society awards are open for entries, and I have decided to give it a try this year. I used to enter every year, but I stopped when I felt like I had no chance of being nominated. However, I’m proud of the work I have been doing lately, so it’s worth another shot. Plus climate change is now at the forefront of everyone's minds, which it wasn't when I began syndication in 2007. And my art is waaaaay better than then.
I’m not the best judge of my work. So for this newsletter, I thought I would ask for your help. My favourite cartoons of the year are below. You can reply to this email with the date of the three comics you like best (I hand write the date somewhere in one of the panels), or describe them in any way. Then I will pick the eight comics that get the most votes, submit them, and we will see what happens!
Thank you for being one of the good humans (I signed off the last time with this, and I think I’ll stick to it as a reminder of why I write these).

PS. Molly destroyed the expensive “chuckit” ball the boyf bought her (no video evidence; it was that rapid). And the weird electronic one he bought her. The crazy tennis ball he got free from Mitre10 (an Antipodean DIY store) survives Molly’s attacks. Just.

(I can JUST read these on a phone turned sideways. Hope you can too.) Click on "View entire message" at the top of this email if your Gmail decides not to show you all 18.
Please let me know your favourites by replying to this email. Thanks!
I also like the Will Ferrel/Cows best!
I like the Feral cows one.
